Answering the frequent question: What is betwinx?

First, betwinx is an alternate spelling for betwixt which was very long ago betwēox.  And, what was that?  Most recently known as between.

My grandfather, Charles (Charley) Benton Knox, was said to have spoken in dialect expressions such as "betwinx hither and yon".  Where did he come by that expression?  Well, not where you might think.  At least not directly.  He came from the hills region of northeast Oklahoma very near Missouri and Arkansas in the 1870s.

And, what does that have to do with the betwinx.com site?  Well, isn't everything on the Internet somewhere between here and there?

http://betwinx.com is my personal site.  betwinx?  This site is largely oriented to Oracle Reporting Solutions in the context of generating bespoken reports from SunGard Higher Education's Banner product.  My university site is a more restrained version which cannot contain endorsements of products or companies.  betwinx.com does not share that constraint.
(I maintain a number of special topic pages with links from this primary site.)
